Meeting called to order by Marty Milanowski, Chairperson.

Review of minutes from the Tuesday January 10, 2023 regular meeting and January 17, 2023 Caucus minutes.

A motion to accept the January minutes with one correction was made by Skip Radosevich  Minutes stated that there would be discussion of proposals for assessors but was not put on the February agenda. The minutes should have stated discussion would be places on a future agenda.   Second by James Kmetz. Motion carried.

Carol Pufall, Town Treasurer, gave overview of town’s finances. Checking account balance is

$590,243.92. Money market account is at $25,393.69 and Covid recovery fund is at $37,061.18.

James Kmetz:  Town Supervisor gave a report that new cutting edges were purchased and replaced. Equipment is being maintained with oil changes and greased when needed.

Skip Radosevich,: Town Supervisor, partitions for the bathrooms will be installed by Jerry Peterson. ADA rules are being followed.  There has been no further issues with the furnace.

Donna Anderson Office . Clerk had Shannon Schneeburger draw names for placement of the Supervisors on the ballots for the April election.  James Kmetz, Skip Radosevich and Kathy Johanik is the order. Voting machine testing was set for February 15, 2023 at 3:00.  The town received a notice of a change in managed forest land for Budiash.

Old Business:  A primary election will be held on February 21, 2023.

New Business: A presentation from Basdgerland Appraisals by Jenny Martin was given. She went through the process of how the property taxes are set for the town.  Also the categories of land such as agricultural, undeveloped, forest land, residential etc. The town needs to be within 90% of value and the town is not in compliance at this time, so an assessment with need to be done again this year to bring the town into compliance.  The town did not raise the levy. School and county taxes went up so that is one of the reasons taxes went up. A question and answer session was held after the presentation.

A conditional use permit application was presented to the board from Northern Clearing to construct and operate a Gas Station Hut with Gas Canopy.  Some residents had concerns about noice, lights and increase in traffic. Runoff onto private property was a concern. Also the issue of access from the highway in entering and exiting onto US 2.  A motion to approve the conditional use permit was made by Skip

Radosevich and a second by James Kmetz.  Motion carried.

 

Public Input:  a request by Neimi’s to be placed on a future agenda to readdress the road name change for Raspotnik Road.

 

Kathy Johanik asked if the tables and chairs be moved from the hall for voting the following week. Supervisors will meet and move them.

 

A motion to pay bills was made by Skip Radosevich and a Second by James Kmetz.  Motion carried

 

A motion to adjourn was made by James Kmetz and a second by Skip Radosevich. Motion carried.
