Meeting called to order by Marty Milanowski, Chairperson. Pledge of Allegiance.

Review of minutes from February 11, 2025, regular meeting.

A motion to accept the February 11, 2025, meeting minutes was made by Kathy Johanik, Skip Radosevich seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Treasurer report – Carol Pufall, Town Treasurer, gave an overview of the town’s finances. Checking account is at $219,435.64. Money market account is at $26,498.31. New township credit card came in for Marty. Shannon’s will be ordered. Grader is paid off.

Supervisor report – Skip Radosevich reported light was replaced at the town garage and septic tank was pumped. All doors are working properly now at the garage as well.

Kathy Johanik reported the plow on the 1-ton has been fixed. It wouldn’t go down at the end of the day and it seemed to be the plug, but is working now. Kelly truck had a power steering leak, and Randy picked up fluid for it. It was leaking underneath and started to rust when he looked at it. He was off today so will resume working on it tomorrow to get it ready for the next one. George was cleaning up fallen trees today on 4 different roads; Old US 2, Gilles, Art Hanson, and one other from the wind last night.

Clerk report – Reminder of upcoming spring election on April 1, 2025. If absentee ballot is needed please request online if possible.

Old business – Marty let everyone know that the permit for DL Storage that was approved by the town board last month ended up in a fraud investigation by Bayfield County. DL Storage contacted Marty to question the amount of money that was being requested by the Bayfield County Zoning for the permits and also the fact that the letter that was received requested the money be wire transferred. This information was reported to authorities and they are now actively investigating at this time.

New business –

a. Paul and David Hnath presented information on behalf of the Eileen Area Historical Society (EAHS) and requested storage space for their Junction newsletter and other materials, as the society has now been retired. Clerk agreed to store in her office for now.

b. Cynthia Belmont, who is running for Ashland School Board against Eric Brandis, introduced herself and took questions from the public regarding her role and top priorities if elected and discussion regarding the upcoming referendum for the Ashland School District that will be on the April 1st ballot.

c. Open Book/Board of Review – Jennie Sanders, assessor, will be present for the Open Book to be held on May 2, 2025, from 4-6 p.m. and Board of Review to be held on May 20, 2025, from 6-8 p.m.
