Treasurer report – Carol Pufall, Town Treasurer, gave an overview of the town’s finances. Checking account balance is $85,434.27. Money market account is $25,786.02. There are currently 40 residents on the snowplow list this year, for $8,100 total for the township.
Supervisor report – Skip Radosevich noted they changed the pressure tank themselves at the shop after purchasing it on sale at L&M, saving the township money on labor and parts. He did get an estimate from Weber for the two furnaces at the town hall – one is $ $4,850, and one is $ 4,950. Will save this estimate for the future and get a few more estimates before making any decisions.
Kathy Johanik wanted to thank Bob Pagac for helping us out while Randy was recovering. He did a great job maintaining our roads. The equipment is all good. Got the loader back and is fixed, there was a seal leaking and a couple other issues. It is working good now. New back up alarm. Skip and Randy working on the 1-ton fixing wiring switch and put fuse in it. Marty and George today putting plow and wings on. Getting equipment ready for winter. We do not need any salt/sand yet, we have enough to start. Called Lonnie to top off propane tanks at $1.44. Randy is going to fix the pressure washer and equipment. It is supposed to be nice next week so will wash everything up including the lawnmower to prevent rusting and ageing.
Clerk – Contacted No.2 Septic regarding the portapotty at Highland Road Veterans Park. They will credit this next month’s bill and try to pick up as soon as possible. I was contacted today letting me know the ground is too soft when they went out, so they will need to wait until the ground is frozen to pick it up.
Old business – None.
New business – Lake Superior Big Top was unable to attend. Will contact to possibly reschedule in the near future. Discussion regarding the two new furnaces for the town hall was held, and it was agreed to get more estimates before making any decisions. Discussion regarding new township website and maintenance was held. Clerk presented information to the board and attendees that was sent to her from current maintenance person, Joe Mattson, on his behalf regarding the reasoning for the increase in price from $300 to $600 per year. Information was also presented from an alternative website design company who several other townships currently use regarding building a new website, updating all the information in a more user-friendly format, initial set up costs and maintenance costs. After all the information was presented, it was decided to go with the alternative website designer who would save the township more money in the long run as they are only charging $300/year to maintain. Kathy Johanik made a motion to accept Superior Lighthouse to provide the township website maintenance and Skip Radosevich seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Public Input: None.
Approve checks and pay bills – motion made by Skip Radosevich, seconded by Kathy Johanik. Motion carried.
Motion to adjourn – motion made by Kathy Johanik, seconded by Skip Radosevich. Motion carried.
