Review of meeting minutes from Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Motion to accept the April 14, 2026, meeting minutes was made by Kathy Johanik. Skip Radosevich seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Treasurer report – Carol Pufall, Treasurer, gave an update on the town’s finances. True checking account balance is $169,644.26. Money Market $26,845.99. Deposit error that the bank made has now been taken care of. Copies of the error paperwork has been given to the clerk to file.

Supervisor report – Skip Radosevich reported the batteries in the thermostats were dead so he replaced and fixed one that had come loose off the wall. Septic at garage okay as it hasn’t rained and it has been pumped recently.

Kathy Johanik reported they took the mower tractor to Lulich’s to get serviced so it’s ready when it’s time to go cut roads. Fixed the box on the 1-ton, put rod in and put tail gate back on. The 1-ton will go in on May 20th as the front end shakes and might be the CV joints for 4-wheel drive, otherwise okay. Been cutting and pushing trees off the road. Grading and hauling some gravel trying to get roads back in shape. Will be filling propane tank at the garage.

Clerk report – Other liquor license has been sent out to North Shore Café, LLC, the lease has been signed and starts June 1st.

Old Business: None.

New Business: Washburn Area Chamber of Commerce gave an update on their new board members and staffing position changes. They are partnering with both Ashland and Bayfield chambers and with the county. They would be happy to work with us if we wanted to send room tax their way in the future instead of the visitor center in Ashland that the Town board members have been considering in the near future.

Firefighter/EMS Contract Negotiations update – Marty and Skip attended the most recent meeting. Ashland has come down to 2.5% increase for 5 years but the initial 21% increase for the first year still stands. It would be around 70,000 twice a year and right now is around 50,000 twice a year. Talking to Barksdale township as well to collaborate and try to bring down cost. Also talking to the county to help out. No future date for negotiation meetings has been set as of yet.

Road Conditions Update – Looking at buying 100 loads of gravel this year at $30/yard to stockpile. One culvert will need to be replaced on Curry Road. Looking at possibly chip-sealing Whipperfurth and maybe State Farm Roads. Estimates were around $37,500 to do a double chip seal. Also Woodland/Highland/Setzke Road section would be around $50,000. Everything together around $100,000. Colby Road did not get the LRIP fund this year so will not be addressing that.

Arganbright Road will be splitting and connecting to already existing Eileen Hall Road so Eileen Hall Road will need to be extended so that there are not 2 Arganbright Roads which would create confusion.

Motion to approve checks and pay bills – Motion to pay bills was made by Skip Radosevich, seconded by Kathy Johanik. Motion carried.

Motion to adjourn – motion made by Kathy Johanik, seconded by Skip Radosevich. Motion carried.
